'Colour plays an important role in our living environment. It is also one of the most striking, expressive tools in architecture and town planning. Throughout the years this phenomenon has been analysed, and has led to a more systematic approach by combining the findings of physics, psychology and sociology with the result of historical research. In this richly illustrated publication a survey is given of the various studies that have developed in a number of European cities.
